When you talk about Flat Roofing, there are basically 2 that come to mind.
TPO and EPDM Rubber.
Both are good roofs but have their own strengths and big differences how it is applied.
TPO
This product is usually white in color and very durable at the seams because of the technique using high heat to fuse all seams together. The white color allows for the TPO to reflect the sun. In all honesty, TPO “is the best system on the market” when you are having to make a choice between TPO and EPDM Rubber.
EPDM Rubber
This system is usually Black in color and feels like a bicycle tire tube. It gets VERY hot and the seams are glued with “Contact Cement”. If your roof does not have water that sits on it? If your slope has just enough pitch that water will not set on it and then this roof would work. If the seams set in water too long…because they are glued, they can come apart.
