What is hail and wind damage?  Hail can damage a roof within seconds and take 10 years off the life of your roof if it hasn't already damaged it. Damage to the roof is not always visible from the ground. Strong gusts of wind will rip off any loose shingles and expose your plywood or decking to the bad weather conditions which in a short time you would inherit more inside problems as well.

Hail also causes granule loss from your asphalt shingles which exposes the underlayment of your shingles to the uv rays of the sun causing your shingles to crack prematurely. Hail and wind are no joke and could cost you thousands if you neglect the issue.

Are insurance company adjusters mean or hard to deal with?  People are people, some are just trying to do their job and some are like other people you have dealt with. They are mostly nice and easy to deal with.

If I file a claim with my insurance company will my premium go up?  Tricky question with many answers. If your whole area has been affected by storm damage there probably will be an increase in your zip code. If you personally have had a couple of claims within a certain amount of years, you probably will have an increase. If you are the type of person that doesn't claim every little thing on your policy and have about 7-10 years between claims, it's been my experience that you should not get an increase. Do call your agent to find out what your policy reads and what their guidlines are first.

How do I file a claim with my insurance company?  There are 2 ways of doing this. 1st call your agent and tell him you think you have damage to your roof, siding, gutters, ac unit etc. etc. or whatever you think is damaged. He will ask you to get an estimate and then he would assign you an adjuster to come out to your home. 2nd you could just give us a call and we would take care of all the appointments and such at no cost to you, it's our way of supporting our customers.

I am selling my home and I know I got damage, so what?  Well, not good. If your house has hail or wind damage that means all the appraisers know it too. Once hail or severe winds come through an area, the area gets charted and it gets put in a computer for all insurance agents, realestate agents and appraisers. The reason is to protect the home shopper from buying a home with damage. You could and would be forced to take care of all the expenses before your house gets sold.

How do I know my claim will get approved?  This is where we come in. We will be honest with you and tell you the truth. Most companies just want to sell a roof, and so do we but not at the expense of you filing a false claim and getting hit with a mark against your policy.

What if my claim is denied?  It has been my experience that when a claim gets denied it is because it lacks the evidence that the adjuster needs to process your claim. Each insurance company seems to have their own way of looking at a roof or the damage in general. Most are fair and are willing to go to all extremes to make sure your claim is treated fairly.

So what does all this mean?  Give us a call and let us do a free estimate to see if you are a candidate for a claim.
